Subscription shows how many times the shares on offer have been bid for. '2.5x' means investors applied for 2.5 times the shares available. An issue is 'oversubscribed' above 1x. It reflects demand during the bidding window and is not a guarantee of listing gains.

Mainboard IPOs are larger companies listing on the main NSE/BSE platforms with wider eligibility and lower lot sizes. SME IPOs are smaller companies listing on the NSE Emerge / BSE SME platforms; they usually have larger minimum lot sizes and lower liquidity, and can carry higher risk.

You apply through your bank's UPI or ASBA facility, or via your broker, by bidding at or above the cut-off price for at least one lot. Your application amount is blocked (not debited) until allotment. If you are not allotted shares, the block is released.

If you are allotted shares, they are typically credited to your demat account a day or two before the listing date, under the current T+3 IPO timeline. The exact schedule is stated in the issue's official documents.
